Welcome to the Students and consultants of the University of Twente and ITC,
Perhaps you have to visit a Dutch Pharmacy during your stay in Enschede. The rules and regulations in our pharmacy may be different from those in your own country. The text below will inform you about what we can do for you.
In our pharmacy all prescription drugs are available. Mostly you can take them immediately when you bring your prescription. Sometimes we have to order the drugs from the wholesale dealer, but it will take only 24 hours before they are available.
We will try to put the instructions in English. Our written instructions are in Dutch. If you wish we are willing to copy English instructions. It can take some time to make them; in this case we will have to ask you to come back for them later.
We will give you verbal information if necessary. You can always ask us how to use the drugs. We will try to answer all your questions and if we do not know the answer right away, we will phone this to you later.
Most drugs for self care are available at our pharmacy. It will be other drugs than in your own country, but we will try to find a medication which resembles the one you are used to.
We have an arrangement with some insurance companies about the declaration of the cost of drugs. All prescribed drugs are mostly fully insured.
There are some exceptions. The following drugs are not insured:
You are entitled to drugs until the day the insurance expires. Should the doctor prescribe for a longer period, you are obliged to pay for the remaining part.
Each time you come in our pharmacy, you need to have your insurance papers with you. The first time you come to our pharmacy, we will make a copy of them, so we will have a confirmation that you are insured.
We wish you a successful period in Enschede.
